182 Reverse Lights

The reverse lights on my 182 haven't worked since i got the car, ive tryed new bulbs but this didn't solve the problem.

Is there any common faults with these or does anyone have any idea's what could be the cause?

Sensor on the gearbox aint working IIRC.

Reverse light switch that screws into gearbox.

Have a look underneath at gearbox and you'll seee it sticking out the side with a wire.

May be worth checking for corroded terminals and damaged wiring before changing out reverse light switch for a new one

I will go over the connections tomorrow before i order one.
