182 sump change

Right iv cracked my oil sump and have to get it changed. I would do it myself but have been told by some that either subframe needs to be dropped or engine has to be lifted.

Could anyone please tell me what has to be done as iv been told now that the sump will come straight out

As you've posted really - Either the Subframe needs dropping or the engine needs lifting slightly.

On a 182 you're better off lowering the subframe IMO, the manifold restricts the lifting of the engine enough IMO.

Ive just fitted arp rod bolts to mine.
I had to jack the engine up as far as it would go.

I then packed out the engine mount with wood to hold it up.
I still had to undo the sub frame bolts and lever it down as the sump wouldn't clear the oil pump.
