182 Suspension systems

  a black one
Hi
I have a clio standard 182 which I believe does not have the cup suspension, I mean it handles really well but doesn't have the antricite wheels. I believe the anthricites are the first indicator for the suspension pack.

Anyway, I am looking at getting new springs but need some advice on which to go for.

From what I have been reading, I am going to steer away from the Apex as they can be quite harsh in some cases. And thinking more towards EIbach, but not sure whether to go for the Sportlines or the Prolines?
Can these go straight onto the car without having change shocks etc...?

Coilovers are probably a bit out of my price range at the moment, for a decent set anyway.

Can anyone help??

Thanks in advance for advice anyone is prepared to give me

Cheers mate. Think that is what I am steering towards to be honest. are these difficult or expensive to fit?

Alloys could have been changed at a later date so the only way to tell for sure if it has the cup suspension is to measure the bolt spacing.

Got the Sportlines on mine, the drop on them is pretty much perfect.

Easy enough to fit and should take a few hours. If you don't fancy doing it yourself, best bet is to find a local member to give you a hand.

Thanks. Think it is defo going to be the sportlines. Not something I've fitted before but I quite fancy having ago myself. I'm normally pretty handy with this sort of stuff. Just wasn't sure whether you need any specialised tools.

You really need a buzz gun for the front top mountings and a 21mm swan neck spanner. a Garage should charge you no more than a hour labour TBH!!

Cheers Lou for your comments.

Think I'll go down the garage route in that case, save myself my temper!!
