182 to 240 bhp !!

£3.75k I think it worked out to be.

There was a recient post on the company.

There are other ways to power.

TB make 230 with head work for ~£4k

£6k for 260hp turbo with 300hp potential begin possible with further work.

I bet the 0-60 times are awsome after that treatment. Think you would dispose of pretty much anything with that under the bonnet.

When you are getting into the realms of that your talking brakes, clutch, gearbox, .. allsorts .. big bucks! may aswell buy yourself an EVO I guess?

Has anyone gone for it with a 172/Cup/182 ??

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

  Mk2 172

Saw the other posts with the pictures of it installed.

There seem to be a lot more bits comming out of the engine than standard.

Does installing this mean taking the engine apart?

will prolly mean replacing everything bar the block... but if people can get 800+bhp from an Evo then the Clio can easily do 500+bhp on a 2.0l turbod engine with the limited space.

You have to replace everything under the pulsars bonnet to get that sort of power.

When your talking about such massive cylinder pressures its all about mechanical strength.

The 172 and 182 engine are almost the same it wouldnt be much different installing the turbo on a 172 or a 182.

250 is only realy economically possible with T/Bs (£3.5k) turbo (£6k) or supercharger (£5k)

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..

i cant seem to get the novidem page to scroll down, its all in jerry so does this mean they reside there?

Ooops soory I wite things in the wrong order I meant to say you cannot get 240 from the normal bits you need T/B (+ extra work) or forced induction.

I would think that T/B + head work+ cams would get about 240 though?

But that would take the price up from the £3.5 I had said. But would be cheaper I recon than forced induction

I guess thats about the price of the conversion. How is the making of a kit going? If the kit is 3.5k and head is about £500 and cams another~ £200 then all fittted for ~£4.5k

  Mk2 172

Which would get me to 100mph quickest if they were both tuned to 240bhp?

Supercharger or Turbo or TB?

  172 Exclusive

I personally think you should not put forced induction onto a N/A frontwheel drive car i think you should go with throttle bodies my opinion they are alot better simply because the fact that its alot more driveable.

Every time i phoned up weston motorsport, bbpt and k-tec they kept trying to flog me a turbo conversion when i was enquiring about a 2.0L they make out they are good to try and flog them but how do you get rid of all the extra heat produced by the turbo. And then you have the problem of it boosting halfway round a corner and the wheels spinning up and you loosing control, fast cornering is about balance which is very difficult to get right if a car is coming on and boost round corners.

Rant over im a N/A man as you can tell

A nice supercharger will sort that out ;)
