182,unleaded or super unleaded that is the question .....

  It's nice
my first post and im old so forgive me...
had my first 182 for about 4 months
couple of days ago the emmissions light came on..
took it to the garage charged me £200 quid for 2 emmission sensor:quiet:s
anyway the guy said it happens a lot on this sort of car if you use 95 ron petrol
i use 97 ron (somtimes i mix it with a tenner of 95)from total/fina
is this the problem im i not using the right sort of fuel??
cheers

  Inferno Orange 182
98 is recommended on a sticker inside the filler cap so that's what I would use. The sensors could be co-incidence or could be linked. Either way, you're using a lower octane fuel than recommended.

Lot a shite. The 172's etc don't need Super. It makes no different to performance. That said it does make mine run a little smoother...He says.

  It's nice

It makes no difference what fuel you use IMO.

I did 40k on Shell optimax/ v-power. And about the same on ASDA 95 ghetto fuel without any problems.

...V-power is 99ron IIRC.

  It's nice
thank for that,i didnt know shell was 99 ron
guess it was just coincidence on the sensors
ill have to have a fault code reader as the garage charge me 40 quit to read the codes ...ffs
cheers
