182 urgent help required please!( new to forum)

  182 sport
hi guys! Im new to this forum and a first time renault owner!

Just purchased a clio 182sport 54 plate with 77k.

When i test drove the car it had a pull to the right hand side which was quite a sharp one, the fella i bought it off said he was told the track rod end
needed doing.

I took it to a garage to have a look at today, was told no sign of the track rod end needs replacing but instead because one of the front tyres was worn out it needed replacing along with the tracking which i had done.

This if anything has made my car worse, the car is sharply swinging to the left and right all of a sudden even at low speeds of around 20-30mph.

Any idea what this could be as its dangerous to drive it like this! and wanting to get it sorted asoon as possible so i can enjoy my new motor.

really hope you guys can help

thanks in advance!

First of all, you need two matching tyres on the front. Its the only way to get a car driving properly. Getting one replaced is pointless. If you shat in your pants would you just wipe one cheek?

Second of all, you need a proper person to look at it. I don't mean Billy from kwik fit, I mean a proper experienced clio person. Otherwise you're wasting your money. I've had cars that are deemed as mot worthy and just been serviced but in my eyes, they drive like a dogs dick because something is a miss. If you tell us your location, we can recommend a clio specialist near to you.

Thirdly, are you 100% sure you're not experiencing torque steer? When you boot a 172/182 they do pull to one side quite a lot more than most cars. This is pretty normal. However, if you're driving like a normal human, then it should drive straight and true.

thanks for the reply, yes its definitely not torque steer! this car is swinging out sharply at low and high speeds! I'm based in manchester so any specialist contacts u have would be a great help, the tyre i replaced does match the others (pirelli).

Are the back tyres ok? I've had a rotten tyre on the back before but had plenty of tread and that nearly took me off the road. Check the side wall for any cracking.

thought it might be somethign like that, one of my ball joints came loose before and caused similar problems. I just had to tighten the pinch bolt and problem was solved.
