182 v v6

had a bit of a play the weekend with a m8 of mine with a V6 Clio!! we both was 2 up and in 4th doin around 70 when we both gunned it!! it was dead level till around 120 and then i backed off!!!

i havn't had the car long and was very surprised tbh that a 182 was as quick from 70 to 100+ as the 3ltr v6!!!

The v6 is not at all happy labouring at 70 in 4th gear. At 70 I would still be in 2nd or possible 3rd.

agreed 4th gear in 182 at 70 is right on the money, ad think 70 in 4th in the vee would be idling.......

Gearing is very much different in the MK1 v6. Still think it's a bit odd/purposeless gunning it in 4th?

Should have raced through the gears, but saying that if you were racing a random guy, then he still would have been owned, correct gear or not.

yeah - looking back on it, my v6 was so low on revs in 4th! when i have done 1/4 mile i barely hit 4th before the line so i think the above comments on gearing are very true

was a good laugh and very level too

in a sport 172/182 u are just going into 4th over the line at least mine was lol

surely as the V6 got up the revs though it would have started to pull away. Its well and good saying it would be low at 70 but im sure at 100+ he would have been in the right gear to pull a couple of car lengths?
