182 vs 200

  RenaultSport clio 182
Chaps,
I'm upgrading from a 182 with cup chassis to a 200 and I'm undecided as to whether to go for the cup chassis or not. The 200 I test drove had the cup chassis and it seems a much better ride than my 182, not softer just much better damped. Has anybody else done the same and what would you do if you were me?
Thanks
Tony

Save £££'s for losing 10mpg everywhere :clown:
Try a non cup aswell? Just make sure you order one with Speedlines, not doing so is a massive fail....

Definitely getting speedlines, what do you mean about mpg?

Where are you based fella? I've got a non-cup suspension 200, and having driven both I'm glad I did. The cup chassis would have been more fun on track, but for road use the non-cup setup is better judged for b-roads etc. Yes, on paper it's 'softer' than the 197 set-up, but that's a very simple way of looking at it. The balance is great, and it soaks up the bumps on a b-road brilliantly.

Sunny Macclesfield in Cheshire.
A lot of my driving is on crappy pothole ridden back roads so the ride comfort is important. My 182 copes remarkably well and was hoping the 200 would be better?

if you tried it already and liked it, then you'll be fine with the cup packs. Good luck with the car mate!!

200 Cup suspension is worse than my 197 Cup, and if I was ordering again knowing what I know now about the use it will get, I'd get a none-cup.

Suppose it depends on what the roads round you are like. But, for me, they'd have to be pretty bad not to tick the cup chassis.
Get it not only for the suspension, for the quicker steering rack, lowered and better stance, and the red calipers with the black speedlines
