Bluefin is a trademark of Superchips and is basically a Superchips remap with the benefit of being able to take it off yourself along with removing the map from the car all together (imobilising it, useful if you go on holiday etc).

lol. Ok - add £235 for fitting. But that's not the point as even with that you're not talking 'a couple of G's.

Nail on the head with warm hatch RussZS. It's more like the VTR to the VTS, great for newer drivers on insurance costs.

It doesn't compare to the 182 with respect to performance etc - I don't think it was intended too. It's only insurance group 13 - hence the young un's buying them and giving the car a bad rep. It's still the flagship Fiesta though, so you're analogy isn't quite right - ST = VTS / ZetecS = VTR. Gotta love £297 fully comp insurance though!

I had a Fiesta ST on a 24 hour test drive, dragged it against my mates 172.

The Clio pulled away cleanly everytime.

Nice looking cars though, just need that little bit more power and nicer inteior.

They look okay, if a little tall. Interior is terrible, but so are many other Fords, like the old Focus RS.

I traded in my Fiesta ST (standard) for my 182 so had back to back experience of them.

No question the Clio is quicker. 1 second quicker to 60 and 3-4 seconds quicker to 100.

I remember the test drive, I couldn't believe how much quicker it was than the ST.

TBF tho, you're always going to get a Fiesta forum bigging up Fiestas. Likewise you get you lot bigging up Clios on here! lol. i.e. "1.6 Clio = Fiesta ST"

There's no point arguing though, the 1*2 is quicker, lighter and probably gets the nod (just!) handling wise (standard v standard).
Not that I'm out to prove myself, but I made my choice over a 182 as I was tired of Renault dealers, average build quality and the cheaper insurance on the ST. Plus - at the time, I got my new ST for used 182 money.

They seem to think that as soon as you get to a corner, the ST will destroy the Clio! Their only defence is they can mod them and then hope to keep up! What a bunch of tits! I know people are always going to 'big up' there own cars, the difference is that the 18 year old typical chav ford owner does not want to admit when they have been 'owned'. My mate has an ST and has openly admitted to my 182 cup being the better car on both the straights and the twistys, there is seriously no comaprison.

how can they start spouting about spending money......... obviously when you start to add things it's gonna handle better than standard.

if both parties spent 1.5k the clio would still be ahead even more so on handling.

I'll admit the clios do suffer from faults and i reckon the st's do too just because summat looks asthetically better doesn't mean you're not gonna get faults.
I own a ford 1990 rs turbo modified engine and suspension would keep up with my 182 but only because it weighs like 900kg's so it's lighter, standard i would get eaten by my 182.

i have had a couple of races against a st in my williams, against a 56reg off the lights my gets away better then keeps pulling away thru each gear, st didnt stand a chance, he was a twinkle in my mirror by time i finished with him! and had a 08 reg thru the twisties then a bit of straights and he just couldn't match me.
however when i drove my mates st it did feel alot quicker than it actually goes...

yeh rly didnt say it beat them but it keeps up and doesnt drop back much.
my 1.6 is filtered, zausted, and remaped btw.
people have said its quick for what it is on meets.
