182 wont start , Immobiliser issue?

Hi all,

Not sure if anyone can help with this? I went to start my 182 this morning and couldn't get it to start, thinking it was a battery fault i tried jump starting it but still wouldn't go.

Ive just had recovery out to it this evening and he's told me the battery and alternator are fine. He managed to get it going by flicking the ignition on and off and waiting for the fuel pump to kick in and has told me its an immobiliser issue and i need my key re-programming.


Does this sound about right before i go and take it to renault?

Have you got a spare key? It's not uncommon for this to happen now and again.

Try that key and if it's the same problem its a different ball game.

Just coming back to this. It's been fine ever since and seems ok.

I finally found my spare key replaced the battery and I've noticed it won't unlock the car, no red light on the fob but it will start the car.

Does this need re-syncing or do I need to replace it?
