182 xenon headlight fault

  Clio 182
Hi everyone.
I changed my passenger front xenon bulb last week for a new bulb it was a oe quality bulb. It has now gone again. The old bulb the glass was smashed when I removed it.
I fitted the new one and it has worked for about a week. Are they common for the ballast? I'm going to check the fuses and connections tomorrow just incase.

There are 3 parts to the xenon lights - blubs/ ballasts/ ignitors.

If the old bulb was smashed then it would have failed for obv reasons, if the replacement bulb is intact - it could be a fuse (both sides are fused independantly) ballast or ignitor.

Ballasts can get damaged from water ingress - and when i read up before it is advised to silicon around the ballast to prevent this,

Easiest diagnosis is to whip the bumper off the swap parts from the working side to establish what part has failed on the non-working side
