18s with lowering on a cup

Want 18s so bad and have the cash but I need to know if there is any prob with this size rim??? The beast is lowered 40mm already and they will be the brilliant silver Super Leggeras. Any thoughts from peeps with 18s and lowering??? I have also bought -60mm springs just for the back is this wise? The front is low enough now as I can just get on the driveway!!! Oh yeah and I was hoping to get 18x7.5 rims. Please help.....

would have thought that would be OK ! Fred has gone 110mm at the back on 17s IIRC ! why are u desperate for 18s ! They will make the car dog slow ! My valver would give ya a go with ya 18s on m8 !

That was my next worry why bother getting a weight saving car then add weight??? But I just love big rim vs small vs slammed cars ( Whats a bruvva to do??? I love the performance as it is would it ruin it that much considering the Leggeras are lighter than average alloy wheels do you reckon?

Go for it!!! be different!!!! As far as i know the Superleggera doesnt come in a Renault fitment in 18inch??? Maybe im wrong!!!

7.5 inches wide might cause problems, you wanna try and stick to 18x7s if possible

But turinis are light wheels too ! Its not just the weight you have to consider its the circumference of the wheel, the 18s will have a huge circumference ! Would look MAD tho ! TBH its totally up to u if u choose 18s !! Ask yourself what u bought the car for.... A. driving pretty fast and beating CTRs or B. To pose and show off the beautiful mondial blue cup ?? upto u m8y !! have fun anyway !! LOVE CUPS AS DOES FRED :devilish:

Reasons why Id not go for 18s on a Cup...

additional weight
wreck the handling
increase the gearing
additional rolling resistance
slow the car down
etc...

Looks or performance & handling, its your call!

Upto you cupster youre money. Depends how you drive? Still be quick in a straight line, just handling wont be as good. But youll have the best looking cup in the country/world

go for it mate, its still gonna be a quick car. Might just have to get yourself a turbo to balance it out a bit;)

Dont lower it 60mm at the back though, it will f**k the handling. If you think, when you accelerate the rear of the car drops as the front raises so there will be even less weight, traction at the front or something like that. I was looking at my car the other day and i dont think they actually sit higher at the back, just that the arches are higher so its a kind of optical illusion....

How about coilovers? Then you can play around with them

-25mm would look far too high

I never said he shouldnt, I said reasons why "I" wouldnt!

Think id be tempted to use the 18s for shows etc......but then a big part of shows for me is the cruising down there and back getting into little tussles with other motors involving speed and corners ...and..............

........nah id stick with the tiny little 17s instead methinks!

Cant you lower it a tad more to create the effect of larger wheels and therefore keep the superb Cup performance and handling characteristics?
