19 16V Gearbox

Noticed a lot of Clio16V owners have these fitted - WHY??

Do they offer better ratios or ar they just more resistent to extra power??

The only person whos got one fitted is Ben (Red 16) isnt it. And he doesnt like it.

better top speed,got 130 out of my phase1 r19 16v last night on a b-road,loads left,just ran out of road.my clio 16v just nudged 130 ballsout on a dual carraigeway,no more left in it

You can also get over 60mph out of 2nd with a 19 box!

Dunno if ive just got used to the R19 box or if it was sumthin else making the car feel sluggish! But it seems ok now. I think the ratios are slightly different, find out what its like up the strip compared to Leigh anyway next chance i get

Dunno about the speeds in gears either, cos i aint got a speedo either, lol. not til i go to renault n get one, itll be a nice thing to have back

I think a lot of people might put the R19 box in because theyre cheaper and more readily available from salvage yards than the Clio 16v box.
