I'm in the same boat, i've read too many comments on tyres and i'm more uncertain as what to buy than ever.
I need 2 new tyres and i've got a budget of £50 a tyre, and as soon as I think i've found a good one where all the comments are good,
I find a comment saying they won't grip in the wet, or the sidewalls are soft, or I ended up in a ditch etc.
I think asking on here is a pain in the arse sometimes.
think it depends purely on driving style/ wether you think your a hero or not lol t1-r's are fine on my 172, but i love the uniroyal rainsport tyres fantastic in the wet and dry
I've just had 4 Kumho KU31 Ecsta Sport tyres fitted to my 172, I've done about 250 miles on them so far and they are proving to be every bit as good as the Continental Sport Contact 3's they replaced and seem to be quieter aswell. I can't comment on the wet grip as of yet but from what I saw from the thread on here for these tyres people seemed to think they were great in the wet too! Can't complain for £43.10 a tyre
T1R's in the 16" are totally different to the 15" IMO.
I rocked 16" on the turini's for awhile and they scared me to death lol! The amount of times I slid around roundabouts even doing 10mph was scarey. 15" still did the same but felt better in the corners, not so much roll and didn't feel like cheese as much.
For £29 a tire in the 15's I can complain at all, get them sorted for free so works out at £130 a set fitted. Mentally cheap IMO.
