195 or 205 profile tyres help please

Hi all

Time to change tyres, been having a quick look at mytyres and there seems to be a bit of a difference between 195/45 R16 and 205/45 R16 prices.

I know the 195 come as standard on the 172's but 205 on the 182's.

What do people recommend for the 172's, keeping them as standard or is it work the trade up in extra grip.

think its one of those personal choice things... some people reckon you loose some response in the steering, but i cant say ive noticed any.

if u like having fun in corners then its probably worth going for 205... if u just drive around with an occasional burn then save the cash and go 195
