197 Cams

been thinking about cams for my 197.

Heard Cat cams are the ones.

Am i looking at about 10-15bhp gain once there mapped in?

Are they about £600-700?

Also i am abit of a mechanic but i dont have the tools for renault.

couple of hundred for fitting, 500 odd for the cams, few hundred for the remap.

under 20bhp gains.

The cams retail at £719.62 including VAT @ 15% and are produced from top quality hollow steel billets.

With a remap Kevin Walker's 2008 197 Cup went from 184.9bhp to 200.4bhp on RS Tuning's rolling road. Torque and power gains all the way from 3000 - 7700rpm.

With an ITG induction kit he's now clocking 202bhp - anyone claiming more from a single plenum Clio 197 at the moment???

Lol. Variances on the RR would suggest so. A std 197 ran 202 recently...

full straight through zorst.

Aye. It wouldnt have been though as you and I know well enough!!


Mine ran 206 whilst -16BHP down due to the AFR on a set of Dasteks!!

Yes the gains will unfortunately be less, just the power the cams will make. I saw 12bhp improvement peak (i was already remapped) but that doesn't tell the whole story.....

Its like a 420 so just a tad more wild than OEM

Is there any other 197 except Kevo's who replace cams with some more agressive?
