197 clutch problem

I have my car for two days and the clutch has gone! its a 56reg clio 197 with 55thou miles! Has anyone had any problems with the 197 clutch? I have read that the master cylinder can stick and cause the clutch slip? Need advice!!!

slave cylinders can leak so you get loss of pedal. there should be a return spring on the pedal so it doesnt stick

Bet the last owner knew it was on the way out and sold it!

Lucky the guy who I brought it from is paying for the new clutch but I have read on another Renault forum that the master cylinder can cause problems which make the clutch slip?
