ESP won't save you if you go beyond the laws of friction. ESP is a driver assist, not something which should be relied upon if you can't drive for s**t.

also esp doesnt catch understeer unless the whole car gets a bit out of shape.

indeed, people over rely on it this days.... i can see its benefits, but it gives people a feeling that there is a saftey net, which is a false sense of security.

When it hit the kerb, yes.
 
Some guy over there was talking about using the ESP to allow him to keep his toe in through the corners. He lets the ESP do the braking/throttle and picks it up again on the exit!?!?!?!?

He's in for a shock the day his ESP fails.......

I wouldn't give him any, we don't know the circumstances after all. He could of hit a bit of diesel or the car may of had a mechanical fault...
