any1 getting 1? they look great, not to keen on the 197's but the cup is tempting. . . or wait n get a mk2 vee?

  williams 2
vee6's are cool, not practical in any ways lol but look awesome!

197's are getting cooler, cant wait to see the cup.

Personally id go for a focus rs if i had that money for a newish car!

The 197 cup is going to be like the 182 cup, poverty spec with preicous little performance gains although the bright side is its cheaper.

I'd only go for the cup if i didn't want air con.

The cup pack will be available on the normal 197 soon anyway.

its more a financial position for me, i can afford a cup, dont really wanna be stretching to the extra 2-3k ud pay for the full fat by the time ud specced cup chassis, recaros, which is what people want anyway.

the cup has the essentials, without superflous stuff like a 'soft-touch' dash, or air-con, lol.

plus white with black wheels is teh sex.

Ordered a Cup in white with black wheels and air con.

Picking up the 2nd week of JAn.

Can't wait.

197 is definately the more practical of the two, white with black wheels will get head turning too, although not as much as the vee would, difficult choice, I would be tempted to get the vee lol

im planning on one, roundabout march time id expect.

they look awesome!

Same i hope lol. White, standard r27 style alloys (not a fan of the speedlines) No aircon (needs all the power it can get) Recaro's. Done. Thats the plan anyway!!!

197 always been cool...much more subtle than the V6, I'd know which I'd be spending my money on

Can already order it. No idea on list price but judging from the price got it it will be £250~300 extra.

Recaros and cup setup will be the very popular options you cna get them for not much extra and I'd go for it if you can for reasle etc.

Different cars though.

Cup pack on a 197 is £400 IIRC. Got the figures at work.

Recaros aren't a cheap option at £850 but well worth it.

Reckon they'll go the same way as the 182's, where its difficult to sell one without the packs?

How can you not like the 197,but like the 197 cup, they look the same too me?

They are. The only real external differences are the unpainted rub strips, door handles and wing mirrors on the Cup. And they've removed the Clio badge off the back which looks a lot better IMO.

I think the 197 looks the dogs. The 172/182 were very subtle and easily mistaken for a 1.2 by people. Even for me it's a bit to subtle. The 197 stands out. It's massively wider than the normal Clio 3.

I don't think none cup packed 182s have trouble shifting Dan. It's just on here because we're all Clio snobs. lol Most normal people would be more than happy with a standard 182.

Ive always liked the 197, think it looks cracking in white with those wheels.

Although the amount I clean my car, white would be a no-no for me!

Personally I wouldn't have a cup, the interior is foul. I'd want a 197 with the Cup suspension pack. Can you get the 197 in white or is that Cup only?

Coming from someone with a Mk1 V LOL. ;)

You can get white on the 197 but at a higher cost for the paint than on the Cup.

Thats f**king silly!

Different line apparently. That was why they couldn't do white previously. It wasn't because they didn't want to, it was down to logistics.

£150 on the Cup, £360 on the 197, but that's not cofirmed. I suppose they do have to paint the wing mirrors, door handles and rub strips. lol

Hehe yea :) Somehow I find the interior less noticeable in the Vee. Especially when the roads are greasy. Also, it kind grows on you and you learn to accept it after a while.

So I guess now my perfect 197 would be a White, FF 197, with the Recaros and white paint. And the MP3 CD player. Not too bothered about auto lights/wipers or Xenons. Prefer basic AC to climate actually heh. Or a Red R27 :)

People keep telling me the interior on the Trophy is dated. I can't see what they mean! All I can see is that the dials in orange are dated, the rest is just the usual.

I've gone for the Cup this time because I can't stretch to a 197 in the spec I want. I've studied the Cup interior and I can easily live with it as it's better than the one in the Trophy. I can live without most the silver bits. Electric mirrors is no great loss, though heated ones is a little.

At least I've got aircon and very nice seats. The rest I'll live with.

I don't really pay a massive amount of attention to a cars interior for some reason. I had a Twingo recently and other than thinking the plastic was a bit hard I can't remember much else about it! Oh and the rev counter is on the top of the steering column.
