197 F1 edition Recaros

Not straight fit like trophy recaros I don't think. Steve put them in a 172 though so eventually fit lol.

Pm Steve, he's the only person I know t have successfully put them in a 1*2

another bloke on here tried it but couldn't stop them fouling on the headliner so sold them on.

Steve bought the runners etc from capital seating and just bolted them in iirc

I believe the 197 recaros are mounted to a vehicle specific frame that includes the height adjustment mechanism. The ones Steve fitted were new bare seats as they come from Recaro (no frame attached) and he mounted them to 1*2 recaro frames. To get the 197 seats onto 1*2 frames looks like a lot of cutting and welding.

IIRC a few people have fitted these successfully into mk2 v6's.

Probably not worth the hassle TBH.

Anything can be made to fit- by the standard rails etc on the 197 recaros will need to be machined & fabricated to fit- of which I think the cost is unknown -

I bought the sportsters & rails new from capitol seating new at trade rate for 1.7k.

Perfect for the arctic. But u might have to get new subframes as im not sure if the 225 ones will bolt in

Do Capital still sell 182 Recaro's? There was nothing on their site, do they need to be contacted for availability? I'll be looking to get some when the time comes around, would rather get some in decent condition second hand, but they seem to come up very rarely, so would consider just biting the bullet - not interested in the ones from an Evo etc.

Anything can fit with fabrication or deep pockets. A chap on here had corsa vxr recaros in his 182. Steve's flamer with sportsters was LOVELY!!

I paid £220 for the actual seats and Dan@SJM fabricated the standard sub frames to fit. So all in around £250. And they do look great on the standard frames.

Ill need ones that go forward as I often have my boy in his car seat in the back. Not sure if those ones you linked earlier go forward?

No they don't tilt but you can wind them forwards to get people in the back. I have no such problem as I have no rear seats. Iirc only the trophy Trendlines tilt.

Yeah I don't think they will tilt far enough forward by winding them to get a car seat in and out.

I'll wind mine all the way forwards later to see if you want.

Tbh it would drive me crackers having to wind them backwards and forwards every time I needed to get access to the back. I'm really OCD with stuff like that. Ill definitely have to go for ones that tilt. Cheers for the offer though :)
