197 second service - Scotland (Edinburgh)

Hey guys,

My 197 needs its second service, what is the average price and where do people reccomend for me to get it done. Obviously want to keep the warranty going but im not sure there are any Renault dealers around that i trust.

Does it have to go to Renault?

Anyone recommend a good one?

I think it can go to any specialist / garage as long as they are vat registered, they can stamp the book and it will retain the warranty

Mine was done at SMC renault and was £247 IIRC.

They are quite expensive iirc. They wanted around £200 for my 1.2 to get done. Went to my local garage and got it for just over £100.

if i was you id travel a bit and get John @ Progrip Bonnybridge to do it, just got my 172 back from him, 48k service without air filter (got a panel filter) was just over £80! millers oil used by him and genuine parts, also does a good check of the car and highlights any other issues

Theyre terrible, i wouldn't trust them with any car.

I am judging this purely on their shocking customer service!

The guy who runs a small french garage, think it is citron or someit, near morningside recommended the Renault branch at Motherwell for big jobs.

Mind that if you dont get it done by renault im sure it voids the corrosion warranty as there the only ones that can validate it.

Its probaly not worth the paper its written on but there you go
