197 v 2.0 1series bmw

whats faster? iv seen alot of these bmw's and they seem pretty quick. . .
but against an rs which would come out on top?

120 diesl? or petrol, i'd say a 1 series petrol would loose, diesel would be about the same.

197 would easily hammer a 120i, the 130i is more of a challenge!! 120i's are really not that quick! The 120d is quicker in fact

My dads mate has the diesel 120. It's a quicvk car, lots of torque. I think the clio would win off the mark. Maybe the beemer from rolling but not sure.

I had a 116i this week as a hire car, was so pish it's untrue, far too heavy.

Used to potter around in my sis in law's 120d which was quite nippy (163bhp)

Imagine a 197 would murder a 120i, 120d wouldn't be "too" far behind

reckon the 197 would win from start and in gear, if it was diesel, very close, probably be a bmw win

as mentioned above i also thought weight would have to be taken into consideration. .
would a 1*2 do the same?

1*2 is faster than 197 so would do better.

120i 3 door - 7.5 secs
120d 3 door - 7.3 secs
130i 3 doors - 5.8 secs

197 - 6.9 secs

197 would beat both the 120i and the 120d IMO, with the 120d putting up more of a challenge.

i have a 172 and girlfriend has a 120d weve had a couple of races and the 1 series isnt shy but my girlfriend bottles it in the end so i get past her but in fourth get from 70mph it pulls to 115 in no time atall with two gears to go
ive yet had ago against my mate in his 197

130 petrol are a very under estimated car,much quicker than you think.I still think the 120D would loose proper to a clio 172/182
