197 Xenons

Woke up this morning and decided I fancied xenons on my car!

I bet they cost a small fortune!

Anyone on here got any info?

Aftermarket HID kit would be your best bet mate.

I've got an after market 8000k HID kit, they are set low and the beam pattern is near perfect, more effective than OEM Xenons, DONE.

Theres no cutting mate no, an yeah all the decent kits are fine with the OEM fittings..

I've got an after market 8000k HID kit, they are set low and the beam pattern is near perfect, more effective than OEM Xenons, DONE.

I am a noob to clios however have owned Lupi GTI, Audi TT 225, Mini cooper S works(all come with xenons as standard) and think you are naive for believing this.

Horses for courses and all that..i had a 182 FF with xenons before my 197 with HID's i dont get flashed anymore in the 197 than i did with the OEM xenons..

ur lights are spot on sir.. av seen them more than most...

very clear and sharp.. no scatter what so ever!!

theres a vast difference between Aftermarket HIDs fitted to MK3s with the cornering headlamps and factory auto leveling HIDs ,have had the wife behind in our 138 with factory option HIDs and its not blinding as they constantly level themselves, theres a Dyn S derv around swansea with the cornering headlamps so look like the standard factory hid without the washers . He/She has aftermarket hids roughly 4300k by the colour , and i have had this eye burner behind me a few times its almost like full beam, lights all the roof lining up in the car. It does look factory thogh i must say apart from when its coming towards you or behind you. reading the above this car i have seen probably has the level switch on zero - normal, dropping them would probably work fine!

I thankya Gary...mine were set up properly tho...not like the wee jap neds that you see in the town, cutting about wi the drivers side headlamp point at the sky, the passenger side pointing round the corner at st vincent street at george square..

I think it all depends on set up like you say tbh, my mates ford explorer has 6000k and they are bloody stupid fire up the road about 100yards on dipped!
