1990 miles to decide - engine tuning

  Ph1
Cams are getting less cost effective vs performance by the month going by the 2.5k for a turbo conversion, this Supercup inlet and charger conversions for 'old priced' full TB money etc etc

Saying that dont be fooled by this ''only 20bhp'' lark ;)

Good thread as I am in the same boat, hoping to have my inlets anytime soon so either looking into cams and a remap and be happy....or supercup cams and a remap.....decisions decisions.

I rember on GDI's site they used to packages with cams etc their sites a tad bare at the moment!

so i think i have narrowed it down ,after hearing peoples opinions on here and from a colleague who had a supercharged car..

the options...

cams, matched inlets, de - air-con, remap

or

supersharged, de - air-con

just need to look at £££ options etc now

How much is charging or is it still all secret banter at the moment?

I'd go down the cams and super cup inlet personally and map and enjoy the car for what it is. At least if you decide to sell you can unbolt stuff and sell is mildly tuned etc

If you are thinking of charging etc buy a quicker car IMO

Ive not read the entire thread matey but surley your timing belt was long due before now as its 5 years or 72k?

  172 - 249bhp @ the wheels
I'd say boost is the way forward. Cams are okay but the 20bhp is all up top, ITB's sound amazing and give you a good power increase everywhere, but boost the engine and the sky's the limit for power. I'd certainly not bother spending money on cams unless the car is bodied already
