1999 Automatic Clio MK2 RT 1.6 not working :'(( ECU PROBLEM!

So its a Solus then... keys need updating.

I'd start by checking the power and earths then seeing as that was flagged.

Yeah mate the Solus Pro to be exact, and I was looking at my earth connections and all yesterday, I was thinking it might be them, but the thing is the car went like this over night.

I'm going to check all the earth joints and get back at you if that'll help, also I would appreciate it if someone could help me to find the TDC sensor?

I just tried to start up the car and see if the car would move forward at all,

I put the gear into D and when i put the accelerator down, it starts knocking and you can hear the engine knocking, however once I put it in R(everse) it's all fine and the engine works all fine, basically I could be driving this car in reverse all day long without a problem, as soon as it's on D, N or even P it'll start knocking if you put the accelerator down completely and if not, the car will eventually lose it's power and turn off

Oil pressure? BVM Okay? Sounds like the box needs a witch Dr/Auto-box specialist

Sorry mate I'm not sure what you mean, I did notice that the Oil sign comes on the display but once the car is started up it goes away and the oil was changed when the car was bought.

It's very weird as I was speaking to my dad today about the car and he got a guarantee on the car for 3 months, as soon as 3 months went by, week after the car stopped working and the person we got the car from, phoned us at the 3 month mark and asked us if it was still working and he was... not shocked but shocked would be the closest word to it when he heard the car was fine, but the car was genuinely running fine.

Where can I find me one of these auto-box specialists? The car is SORN so can't move it anywhere really :/

Mate I very much doubt that there is a problem with the gearbox or the ecu. if it was all working fine before the sub was fitted, then it will be something that they have done.
The sub has a large cable from the battery straight to the amp with an inline fuse and a large earth cable. it will also have a signal feed to power the amp when you switch it on this is normally from the stereo.
Check the battery terminal is clean and tight, check the earth to the amp, trace the small feed wire back from the amp and see where it is connected make sure it comes from the head unit. Check the rooting through the bulk head and check for chaffing wires.
when you select gear the engine will move on its mounts moving the harness and when you select reverse the engine will move in the other direction and maybe move the harness enough to stop it shorting! Hope it makes sense just ask if not Regards Simon
