Thanks mate, the info will help me shave a few minutes of fitting time, wasnt going to connect any caf up just like you say leave the trumpet just behind the headlight,
I might fit the maxogen tonight and maybe take the acoustic valve out another time?

i would do if i were you fella :D as i said you can get the maxogen on in literally 5-10mins and then worry about the acoustic valve another time :D
If i fitted the ik now and the acoustic valve later would i need to take the filter off again to allow me to get to all the gubbins that need to come out like tubin? And also what do people use for bungin the nosle up on the plenum when taking the vac pipe off?

Adam, you can fit the IK seperate to removing the acoustic valve without any hassle as they are 2 jobs. Are you gonna use a Cold Air Feed or is there no requirment on the Maxogen?

Chris,Not required to have a cold air feed just picks cold air from behind the front headlight,

You no the oil breather pipe that goes from the elbow to the back of the plenum? What does it actually do?Would it make the car run different if it wasnt attached?

It's a crank case breather -It relieves any excess pressure and channels it back into the inlet where any oil is burnt during combustion. If you didn't connect it you'd get small amounts of oil sprayed all over the back of your engine. Car would still run fine though.

I was considering buying a seperate breather pipe with a filter - I was thinking that by directing excess pressure from the crank case breather you are introducing hot dirty air back into the inlet... pretty sure it's such tiny amounts it doesn't really matter though tbh.

Had a go fitting ik tonight and all i can say is im defoinatly not a fitter by trade as id took all the old air box gubbins out both air feeds and then i start on the fitment and i dropped a bolt into my engine bay so it took me half an hour with extenable magnets which wouldnt stick to the bolt and just stuck to engine parts lol,so of with the belle pan and cut a long story short managed to get it in the end,and it just went from bad to worse as i temp fitted the mounting bracket were you have to lift the slam panel while using a unused but exsiting hole to mount, then come trying to fit the carbon box in the hole in between the battery and metal scutch plate and trying to get it in far enough to locate on the bracket......this is were i gave up and took it all back out and put the old shitty box back in so im not a happy bunny!!!!

I followed the instructions and fitted my maxogen in about 20mins, not counting the accoustic valve.

I wouldnt no if your particular car had one but it basically to keep induction noise to a certain db for countrys like sweden it think i might be wrong thou, but the only reason people take these out is we dont need them in this country?

I've just fitted mine and allthough what itg charge for it is verging on the criminal, I'd say the Maxogen does its job very well. A nice subdued roar when given welly, and yes, the car does feel more powerful in the upper rev range.
