1st to 2nd gear - banging sound

Out in my car (cup 172) last night, off the line I stretched it out in 1st gear, just before the rev limited changed in to 2nd and between them changes I heard a loud bang.

Anyone experienced this and might know what it is?!?!

It may be you engine mounts.

its definatly engine mounts mate. what else could it be?

dog-bone mount.

classic case, mine was so bad that the manifold was hitting the subframe. pmsl.

take your battery off and have a look down near the gearbox, then rock the engine on its mounts. then you'll see the movement you hear.

i thought this was axel tramp caused by the design of the car more or less every car suffer from this in extreme wheel spin
