2402 miles. 14 days. 2 Countries.

In a similar fashion to the recent '3 Countries' thread I thought it was best I got around to putting mine up

We started of driving to Dover at about 5am to catch our 8.30am ferry, once in France we drove to our first Campsite near Langres,

On the way

We were only there for a night, it was here however that we notcied that the Dutch have a love for karaoke.

We headed further south the next day and slowly headed toward Le Grand Bornard
mini-P1050341-Copy.webp

We setup camp and named it Chateaux de Chav. The car was filthy at this point after several hundred miles of rain! This was no more than 36 hours after i'd spent ages cleaning it.

We were by far the least prepared campers we came across

The next day we headed in to Annecy about 30 miles away. It was such a beautiful city. On the way we cam across a mini Chateaux

We decided to go in, we paid our money and were heading in to the Chateaux when we are told we could only enter as part of a tour. Tours were run in French or Dutch, we spoke neither. As a result we spent an our in the company of 30 Dutch, not understanding a word that was spoken.

Ok, so first off, you kicked the s**t out of my little journey, a very nice write up and the journey looks flipping great :)

Now, for three questions:

What broke?

Why the hell was the queue like that at the eiffel tower? I literally walked straight up, but was there mid week???

Now for the most important one.....

Did you have a shrink gun for your mrs of blow up gun for your Clio in the below picture?

1. Nothing broke, other than my own common sense.

2. Not a clue why the queue was so long it was a Monday! We weren't allowed to go to the top as the tower was too busy. I've been up before and enjoyed the view, Aimee has never been, but doesn't like heights very much and didn't want to wait hours to go to the top.

3. I don't think I correctly reinflated the car. I might have set the blow up gun to 11 by accident.

Great write up mate. I love these threads. How much planning do you need to put into a trip like this and where did you get your info as there are some truly stunning pictures you have.

It was a bit of pain to plan. We didn't really have any idea where we wanted to go other than meeting my parents in the South and Paris on the way back. I had an Alan Roger's camping guide that lists decent campsites around France, which made it easier, we prebooked all of them to avoid trapesing around looking for somewhere. It was recommended by somebody else on here who did a similar trip last year. Aimee loves camping, which was a bit of surprise. She's going on about buying a mini teardop caravan for next year to tow behind the Clio. HAha

Annecy was by far my favourite place, the mountains around the area are absolutely amazing. I think next year I'll try and encourage Aimee to go further into the moutains and possibly cross into Italy. I have a video or two that show how amazing it really was. I can't wait to do a similar trip next year

Epic.

I'd love to do something like this, hopefully one day... Would just need to persuade the better half.. I'd want to include Le Mans and the Ring.

PSJ.

looks awesome, some amazing places.

This picture looks good.

Now I have a few questions.

1) How did you find sex in the tent?

2) Haven't thought of it yet.
