Need abit of help really, my insurance have said ny car has to be modified so I've said I will put a performance panel filter on, I want to put a pippercross one on but they don't make one for the 200 yet, will one for a 197 fit and if they do can anyone link me to a good one, I don't want a full induction kit because I like the noise and power that the 200 makes atm, it's just for insurance purposes. My car is a 59 plate 200 btw.

Thanks

lynden

why would they say it HAS to be modified????

surely it would be cheaper, to go somewhere else and insure it as standard than insuring a modified car??............... or just lie and tell them it has a panel filter. kind of role reversal to what most people seem to do!

that sounds like a bit of a s**t insurance companie , that is like telling a old man to go and modify his car , sounds like rubbish to me !!!! insurance companies cant tell you to do that , so either the guy on the phone is lying or you have misunderstood them ???

Its not rubbish at all.

He's probably with Flux/Greenlight etc insured through a company who specialise in modified cars, therefore it has to be non standard.

Did the same with my Lupo and 182, insurance was hugely cheaper for being modified.

200 is a new car so not much people know about parts, call renault, ktec or europarts. If the panal is the same they it shud fit. But just tell the insurance company its modded, there too busy, there not gonna come check ur panal if a clam is being made.

Ive never heard of an insurance company not insuring because its not moidifed....?

LOL - My first thoughts.....I cant see any company saying no to what usually ends up 'free money' to them!

I thought even the likes of Adrian Flux insure 'performance cars' unmodified!?

Out of interest this being the case why would you not look at normal companies such as Direct Line, Elephant, Admiral etc if you dont need modified car insurance as surely they will be cheaper!?

They do insure normal cars, but because they specialise in modified cars thats where they beat others, by a country mile. I saved £350 on my Lupo nd £480 on my 182 having them modified through flux.

Which meant for me, standard car with direct line or whatever would have cost me £2300. Modified car with a panel filter through flux was £1800.

Standard cars with flux were similar to other companies, i.e. a lot. Modified i saved loads.

Same here, normal companies like dirextline etc wanted 5k+ and I got it for £1995 so I can't really complain

That's a strange policy! But yes, 197 filters will fit a 200. Same airbox set up and layout under the hood.
