2001 172 - cruise control?

Just a quick question, I've just tried my mates cruise control buttons in my car (all the wires are there), and it brings up set, and the light on the dash. Does this mean itll work if I get the steering wheel?

Cheers.

Standard, I'm sure it did, didn't have traction though, so maybe I'm confused.

I've recently did this on my 52 plate, I believe the steering column required extra loom for the buttons that may or may not already be there.

I plugged the switch in and it turned on. So I guess I'll only need the steering wheel buttons to make it work?

I did this recently on my 2002 172 - you should be all good to go for CC if the SET and dash light came on, but you will need a new clock spring - also called a squib ring/wheel adapter - with the extra loom for the buttons, the steering wheel buttons, and a clutch switch.

There is a thread about installing cc here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...S-172-or-a-dCi-(DIY)&highlight=cruise+control

It has a listing of parts required - although in my experience you don't need the plastic housing or spacer for the clutch switch.

If you don't want to cut your existing airbag to allow for the steering wheel buttons, then you will need to get an airbag off a 182 which already has allowance for the buttons in the casing.

I also found these threads very helpful with regards to doing the install:

Yeah, the set came on. I knew about the squib because I took my steering wheel off for look haha. I think the switch is already there for the pedal, as it had a fault code a few weeks ago when I had a misfire. Cheers for the link. I'll have a read.
