s**t wheels and looks like the front end has been resprayed?!! Or is that just my eyes?!!

Could be a decent one, once you've had your hands on it though!!! :)

I'd take an FF with higher mileage.

or just a straight up 172.

Unless I was going to drive to drive the wheels and pistons off of it every time I turned the key, then maybe it'd make sense, but cruise, climate and leather will always have the nod over 0.1 to 60

Shame about the lack of Turinis. The cambelt could potentially be due as well.

Still, that's a very good price for the south/south-east considering the mileage.

I thought my old 172 with the alcantara and leather was still sh*t interior tbh.

I would be very tempted...but remember to keep some money aside in case the belts are due (about £500 and you can always book in with BTM or Rentech)

I'm sure i'll feel the same when I ditch Stripey.

The ad says cambelt was done on 33874, hopefully an invoice to back it up

What's good about it?

I have a 2002 Iceberg 172 that I'm about to put up for sale with 44k on the clock that looks nicer than that!

Daz, its usually 12K per year as an average mileage. My old Cup with 5½ years of mileage and purchased with 4.5K on clock miles, left this world with 99.5K.

2002 should be about 120K so fair play for keeping the mileage down so much, but my old 2003 172Cup didn't help by doing mileage from Manchester to NEC Brum and a lot of mileage from Telford to Bournville 5 days a week!!!!!

Want a medal? Your point is? Beat the price then with your one which is much better.

That price looks very decent indeed if this is a solid car with no niggles e.g. if the belt was changed within the past 2 years and seems to run well, the only bad point seems to be the alloys and the slightly worrying low mileage :p (maybe it was just looked after and used at weekend, but I'm cynical).

Yes I want my medal please.

Ok maybe I was a tad unfair in my first post but I'm still curious as to what is so good about it - I see is a nice looking cup true enough with good mileage but unfortunately nasty alloys.

Sooo with a set of refurb'd turinis on top of the screen price it's gonna be say £2600-2700 (also need a new gear knob and rear wiper if we're being picky) to be a minter (if the car holds up in person).

I just can't see why everyones going potty over it that's all! seems to be one of a fair few available at that price.

I agree to a point Daz but the crappy wheels can be sold on to help pay for nicer wheels.

^^ oh I agree but I can't see them fetching more that £150-200 tops - £300 for a set of turinis then a few hundred for a refurb if they need it, it starts adding up!

To be honest I'd buy it if I was looking for one and it was good in the flesh as I'm a wheel perfectionist so even if it had turinis and they only had minor scuffs I'd still end up paying for a refurb!
