2009 Megane RS

Looks like the road version has taken alot of inspiration from the racer:

I bet in a few years there will be some sort of bodykit that will make it look similar to the Cup racer - pictured above.

At the risk of splitting hairs, I imagine the two machines were styled side by side. The racer is a spaceframe, so it could basically be any shape. The road car is built around a normal welded steel body which imposes lots of design & construction limitations. The road car would have been the defining shape, with the race car following it.

To clarify. There's no way they would have styled a plastic race car, shown it to the public, and thought "oh f**k, can we actually build a steel bodied road car to look like that?!!11". The style of the car will have been signed off probably as long as 3 years ago, maybe even longer.

I had a new, White megane sport drive past me in february, forgot to mention anything in here, but it looked awesome! Although the rear look similiar to VXR styling... I'm ashamed to say I have no pics, and haven't seen the car since but it look good

I must admit if I was in the market for a Hot Hatch god knows which one I would go for... Focus RS or Meg 250? - God only knows!.

Really don't like the wheels on that meg 250.

I think Renaultsport should make a Megane based on the racer... Mid engined, RWD, 3.5 V6, RS Megane 350 has a nice ring to it ...? never going to happen in the current climate thou

yeah they are the 19" option,
love the look of it but the standard 18"s look better.

sat in a new megane 'sport' this weekend, really liked it inside tbh. the dials are sweet as is the sweeping dash and general quality feel.

also saw my first twingo rs and i was amazed at how good it looked (was black with anthracite wheels) really suprised, seen as i dislike the twingo gt.

also sat in a simply huge laguna coupe, really nice inside with bose hi-fi, leather seats and full colour display but how you would easliy reverse that thing and also the boot was long but very shallow so couldnt get the dog in

got the thumbs up to get a new megane though.
