cams, s/s exhaust, decat, matched inlets and remap....annnd a sore wallet. If you do it, strip some weight as well, so the power:weight increase is more noticable

you should be going for power to weight, not just bhp. As you could add extra horsies and weight and still have the same bhp/tonne which would be pretty pointless.

Pointless getting your car to 200bhp, hardly any difference worth shouting about.

Strip the car, upgrade the brakes and suspension and learn to drive it.

the 197 is a nice car but my next cars a 255 v6

buy mine off me next year wen im bored!! simple.

its gunna cost u alot wotever you do. i had the 202bhp morego conversion on my last 182. bought it with it on but i think i cost over 2k to have it

GDI do a cam package (cams, inlets and remap) for 1600 I think. Then a decat and s/s exhaust is around 400! so 2k. IMO I would get matched inlets, decat and a remap, then strip some weight, get some bucket seats, upgrade brakes and suspension

more low down torgue b4 the 5k jump and the raised redline made it scream. had trouble puting the power down in the wet tbh. ill be selling about then i expect

how is it harsh. I just gave some advice. Unless you are the stig, more driving lessons will help you get the most out of the car you have.

i think that sounds like the more sinsible option


at the mmoment its running on a k&n free flowing filter with cold air feed and some different exhaust which came with the car and the soundtrack at 6000rpm is awesome

any idea what the rev limit is increased to when chipped/remapped

or save it for fuel for the v6!!

i could imagine the mpg for this i bad enough as it is

before i bought my 172 cup i had a punto hgt (dont ever buy one... not ever!) and i was regestering 13 mpg at 135 mph

i dont want to think about what kind of mpg you get out a v6 at top end

Stripping the car made a big difference for mine, suspension was also done and i'm satisfied for a long time
it's a fun car to drive now

I couldnt get under a 15 second quarter mile till i had cams, inlets head etc etc installed. Last outing at Crail it ran a 14.4 with full interior and heavy ICE install ! blew my mates R32 Golf into the weeds. Few more tweeks and if i stripped it times would come further down again

I'm 100% confident if I launched it from the line @ 2.5k I could have gone low 14's. I wanted to preserve the car though and pulled away normally, before planting my foot. That was with leaking silenced decat, viper and r-sport

full interior or stripped out?

No rear bench or isofix bar, that was it......if I was to do it now i'd cream that, cars completely stripped, with better decat/exhaust, lighter seats and better i/k setup.

But i'm not going to do it again, so i'll never know!
