For a clutch? Is that fitted?Meg uses the same gearbox apparently.
I wonder if there's any physical change in the gearbox itself between the 200 and the 220 or whether it's just transmission mapping.
Oh and pray you never do a clutch in, £1600+VAT anyone?
Is that fitted?
200t is a cracking car probably the best Renault sports I've owned yeah not to everyone's taste but its quicker than previous models cheaper to run cheaper to tax and insure and a cracking drive I got mine as an ex managers car 16.5k with 600 miles on the clock and its just turned over 40k now and don't regret trading in the 200 at all such a better car
I'm glad you're enjoying it, but it's really not.
The sales figures and reviews say the same. Not a fan.
Yeah, I've driven the 200T and the 200 Trophy at length. I own a 200, have done since new in 2012 and previous to that I've owned a 182 and Ph1 172. So I'm fairly qualified on them. My friend's also the RS specialist at the Renaultsport dealers... hence the lengthy test drive/freedom with new models.
I could bang on about the mediocre specialist reviews of the 200T, or the group test where it struggled, or the Fiesta ST effect on the market, but the 200T isn't a good Renaultsport model. UK sales figures have been slow, and considering the UK was the largest market for Renaultsport; that's going to hurt.
They just don't feel like a specialist product, like all the previous models do. They feel like a faster version of a normal Clio, rather than something relatively special. The fact it has an awful gearbox (dim-witted, reluctant) and they don't look special just makes the matter worse.
My 200 has its issues, but it'll always be engaging and an absolute riot to drive quickly or on track because it's involving. In making the 200T a more palatable car for the everyman, they've lost out to the guys who bought Renaultsport Clios because of the driving experience, not because it was a good "car".
Those people have gone out and bought Fiesta STs.
Please re-read mine and Warren's posts. I'd reply directly but I'm still waiting for someone with a dead horse to get in touch.
I might be able to source you a very ill pony, but you'll need to provide your own bat to flog it with.
Mk3 sports do look good (except 200 front end yuk)
But in the cliosport range for fun I wouldn't even take mk3's into consideration
Even the seats hurt you arse after a hour
You're missing out then. Owned all three that you mentioned and the 200 is the most capable, by a long way.
Ph1 is the most raw though, but back to back on track with the same driver, a Ph1 wouldn't see which way a Mk3 went in standard trim.
Now I seriously think you are talking crap lol
I could throw a mk2 around like a go cart. Had a Monaco 172 at the same time I had my 197, 172 was much better felt a lot more capable around the bends, in a straight line, the lot
Your just a typical 'my car is the best' kind of guy, it's obvious.
Well, it's not obvious. I've owned them all. It's "you're" by the way.
I'm talking about standard cars before you compare your track prepared Mk2 to a standard Mk3. This is CS though, so that'll happen.
And with the spell correct attitude it definitely is CSWell, it's not obvious. I've owned them all. It's "you're" by the way.

The gearbox is quick. The problem is that when you pull the paddle, there's a delay. Once the delay has passed, the shift is very quick, but that delay is unacceptable.like banging your head feel free to show me a 200 which is better there slower on road on track at drag ? the interiors are pants they cost more to run and tax mods are expensive and do very little and to be honest the 197 looks better. and again have you driven a 200t for a period of time the gearbox is quicker than I could change gear in a 197 or 200 so you must be some form of bionic person to be able to change gears quicker?.
quote what you want the reason it didn't sell as well in the UK was partial because of the gearbox but again I would suggest people try before they by and the cracking deals ford offered on the ST that said its still a much better car than the 200 ever was
Do love that kind of silliness. More capable everywhere. But lap times near identical. Now I seriously think you are talking crap lol

All the Mk3's i've come across on track are slow
"All" even the mk3 clio cup cars?
I for one love it and couldn't care less if everyone slags it off. Thank you and goodnight.
