Picked up a 2013 Clio dci on Friday, since I had it there is a really loud squeak or knocking noise whenever I go over speed bumps or bumps in the road, anyone know what it might be. Thanks.
I'd guess top mounts or dampers bud. Is the ride bouncy?
Open the bonnet and press down hard repeatedly on the front to bounce the car. If it carries on bouncing for a while after you've stopped, the dampers are probably shot.
Could be dampers as @Dom_capper says - especially the rears. Tell-tail banging and wallowy ride from the rear are dead giveaways. Thankfully they are cheap to buy and a piece of piss to replace at the back. The fronts are a little more tricky.
I know what @bloke is saying too. Not had that issue on the Clio, but they fail for fun on Evos. Had them replaced on mine through a similar noise.
