So it's about time i posed a thread for this now.
My last car was a Megane 225 F1 which i loved, it was a nice step up from the 182 i had previously. I had the Megane for just over a year (still do, up for sale..!) and i always had an itch for a Leon even before i bought the Megane but i wanted to keep it french for a while.
Megane Thread
I decided on a Leon Cupra in white, K1 BTCC kit on it and after looking around for different ones i happened to drop on one around the corner from me at a local garage. He listed it on Auto Trader and id put a deposit down in less than a few hours!
Properly love the car, it drives so nice and feels comfy to be in. As much as i would have another 182 (which i will have as a second car when i have space to put it) you can tell its not French built. It doesn't rattle, parts don't just pull off etc..haha
Then it snowed!
I then transferred my plate onto the car and got a set of clean plates made up.
I wasn't happy with how much the plate went over on each side, it looked like it was just placed on. I played with the idea of having a square plate but after reading about i then got it stuck in my head that it looked like a bucked tooth..
I decided to get a plate made up that was the 'legal' 11mm around the edge of my lettering and that's it. I was quite pleased with the result, some may not like it.
Next up was a big clean, out came the usual along with..
The car was covered !
Tardis came out next, i love this stuff even though it smells so strong.

Clay bar, another wash then i was complete ready for a good polish etc..
Moving on from cleaning.
The car sat too high for what i liked. I had Eibach on the 182, the Megane sat nice as standard.
I looked into Eibachs for the Cupra but they give more of a nose down look when used which i didn't want.
H&R were recommended so they were ordered.
Off me and @Dan.AS went to fit them one bright morning.
To be honest it wasn't too hard to fit, the strut came away from the car and top mounts attached still unlike the Clio.
We had to do some slight modifications to the spring compressors in order to leave them on to get the strut attached back to the car.
Back was pretty easy.. found this though, glad we changed them!
The car instantly sat so much better, even more so after this picture once they had settled.
Next up was to tidy my exhaust up. Hard on black crap.
Out came the Dremel and some polishing pads. I didn't fully complete it as i needed to get off but i was pleased with the results.
After having a Milltek on my Megane i wasn't happy with how quiet the Cupra was for what it was. I also wasn't too fussed on it being Milltek loud but i needed something more. I did a search around and there was good reviews on removing the middle silencer to replace straight through but i wasn't too fussed on having it done to my original one. Luckily not long after someone put one up for sale 20 minutes away from me so i collected and did the change over the next day.
you can see what was done from the picture.
It wasn't too hard to do, the exhaust came off fairly easy. The sound is much nicer when putting some power down but general driving its fine. It sounds like what it should have done from factory. I'll try and get a video up of it at some point.
Just like the clio, there are small cheap mods to do, one i was interested in was the bonnet strut mod and some guy who makes up brackets to fit along with a strut off eBay and ball studs too.
Really pleased with the result, i do have another set as i would prefer one either side just for looks but the pressure of the second strut doesn't work well and i can only just close the bonnet. I just want the strut without any pressure at all!
I have a few other bits coming soon so i'll try and keep updated as and when!
Hope you like.
