28k without a service

I'm prepared for the rippage but oh well.

I bought my car on 25,000 miles, and it had no service history, which at the time I didn't think was a problem because miles were relatively. I've since done 3000 miles and not had a service, but it is being done this week.

I'm just wondering when my car (2004 MK2 PH2 1.2) will need the belts etc changing, and would it be worth doing them on this service or not.

And also, do you think it will effect my resale if I have no service history up to 28000 miles?

I serviced my mates old 1.2 which had never had a proper service last month, was on 40k and he had never changed the oil just "topped it up" with random bits of oil he found in his garage. When I drained the oil out you could feel metal in it when rubbing it between your fingers :(

Has it ever had an oil change ??
Yes it's had an oil change.

TBH I think it has had some sort of service, just no history as the guy I bought it from didn't have the book.

I say I think it has because all fluid levels, power steering, brake fluid etc are all at correct levels, only thing is brake pads are on way out.
