Is a PSP worth buying these days? I've been considering it but not sure what you can or cannot do with them using the custom firmware.

i got mine on release as i thought gtmobile was coming out-it never did, and hadnt used it for like a good 9 months so thought id change the firmware to run psone games and homebrew, since i done that i use it all the time!!!so much better using this sort of firmware!

well you can run isos and homebrew if you get a psp gps reciever you can get a satnave working on it (custom firmware options), you can play ps1 games browse the net
and play films and music on them (normal options)
