Me too. Had it on four about a year and not a single problem. I'm even sat in a police station now not giving any f**k or f***s

Never had problem from police but it did fail it's last MOT because of it! So they must be hotting up... have the 'spare' in the boot now ;)

What makes them illegal? Is the lettering slightly smaller? Obviously the size of the plate can be anything and the size of the lettering isn't obviously smaller, not to me any way. Think it would take a militant cop to bust you and a pretty strict tester to fail you.

Small plates look good, no front plate looks even better IMO. These 3/4 plates look good and closest thing to legal

i work in the auto trade and we supply number plates and are dvla registered. the size of both the acrylic and the lettering are illegal dude. a copper with a tape measure would have you.... ive had this scenario before! would take a total jobsworth of a copper though

race / track car discussion?

EDIT: AKA "as above +1"

Also, I'm running a plate of dubious legality on the front of listerine.

If a policeman wants to do a u-turn, chase me down, then pull me over for it.....well, OK, it'sa fair cop.

WHich is why I keep a full-size plate in the boot, because "oh noes! forgot to change them back after that photoshoot! Terribly sorry officer!"

The acrylic doesn't have to be a certain size

yes it does dude. as gherkin says the lettering has to be the one and only available standard size as does the acrylic backing space around it. you can have a shorter plate if you have ie a 5 digit plate but the height is non negotiable. its bs i know, but its still illegal and not worth it unless you dont mind getting pulled for it once or twice

The law states that there must be an 11mm border top and bottom of the lettering
