Some of you may remember I did a 3 day roadtrip a couple of years back before selling my 182: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=263131
I had the last week off work but last minute had to head to Doncaster. So that left 3 days instead of 5. Took Ally's 3.0 Z4 and split fuel costs.
Trip was Glasgow (mine) - Falkirk (Ally's) - Doune - Crianlarich - Fort William - Arisaig - Mallaig - Skye - Sligachan campsite - Talisker Distillery - Kyle of Lochalsh - Plockton - Applecross - Eilean Donan Castle - Fort William - Laggan - Dunkeld - Falkirk - Kilsyth - Glasgow
The road to Applecross is the highest mountain pass in the UK and the scenery is spectacular, it's like a mini alpine pass but single track:
Some pics in chronological order:
Glencoe from the A82:
Glenfinnan:
en route to Mallaig:
Between Arisaig & Mallaig:
Mallaig from the ferry:
Sligachan campsite on Skye:
Still light at 11.15pm at Sligachan:
Talisker distillery (Skye's only malt):
Bealach na Ba (highest mountain pass name is Gaelic for pass of the cattle):
Passed Eilean Donan castle on the way home (home of Clan McRae - RIP Colin):
Roads were bone dry, sun was shining mostly and we only used 2 tanks of fuel. Recommended locations, stunning stuff.
