They're no different to any other car out there. Common rail diesel is just a pain in the arse when they go wrong no matter what badge it has on the front.

That's an internal diagnostic for the clockset only as it doesn't interface via CLIP. It is not vehicle diagnostics.

I'll give you £ 200.00 for it and have it collected at the weekend.

If you decide to keep it, listen to Mick otherwise you're going to make it worse mate.

A half decent auto electricians should have some sort of mobile diagnostics. The biggest problem with that light is 99% of the time, whatever has triggered it to come on will require it to be put onto diagnostics to reset it and turn it off. You could fix the problem and not know.

Could you not get someone to tow you to a garage rather than trailer the car?

Oh great ... So its potentially the pump which is expensive or the 4 injectors which need coding and is expensive or it could be a blackage which again is expensive shudnt of got a french car shuda listend to people :(

With all due respect, you've bought a 9 year old car and without purchasing it from a family or friend, you will have zero idea of how its been treated since 2004.

You could have bought something that was a minter, or a complete, unpolished turd. Those are the risks. Why would you necessarily think that buying a 9 year old Ford, Beemer, Toyota, etc could or would be any different?

As Mick (and others) have said repeatedly - getting a diagnostic done is the only real course of action. If you have to save or borrow - that is what you'll need to do, or else the car is going nowhere.
