30k and wow

Car  clio 172 cup
ive just done over 30000 miles and my cup is flying its all of a sudden just got faster im sure. so at the min im loving my car more than normal!!!

nice one Rob, sounds like it's just run in m8;)

I've got another 8k to go but it's true, the more miles you do the better the performance (up to a point)

Don't know what the optimum is and I guess it depends on the manufacturer - I had a Golf GTi Turbo 150 with 88k on the clock, it had a full VWSH & went like the clappers, so I rekon the Clio's 'optimum is about 60k? Just got to keep putting posh oil in (fully synth) and keep it serviced and it will improve even more!!!:D

Happy days

well since topping 24k in mine iv noticed a diff, but it gradually got better with age, currently at 28.5k and fairly loose, but still 35-38mpg

:hail:

mines on 8.5k noticed a hell of a difference since the earlier days. Bring on the next few thousand miles :D

Mines now on 46k and feels great.

My mate has a full fat 172 with about 20k on his, and he keeps saying to me that his engine is better than mine cause its got less miles blah blah. I keep telling him they get better with age, but he is having none of it. I'll just have to show him one day on a track or something.

mine has 125,000kms on it (78,000) after 2 years 8 months, almost as many as the starship enterprise, which is why mine now travels at warp speed. :)

strange I feel like mine has lost performance with age? 36,000 miles under its belt and it doesn't seem to rev as urgently as it used to.

I have a vid of my speedo when I first got the car and it flys up to 120 and pulls well beyond (Taken at crail)

Now it struggles to get above 120 in a half mile ??? (Length of runway at crail)

I'm trying to get the milage up on mine so it feels nice and fast and run in! Its only done 3000 so far!

15.5K here .. feels as loose as my wife will when she gives birth! ;)
(ok.. might be a "slight" exaggeration! lol)

Andi

^ poor wifey lol

Mines very free revving at 24k (in for its service today) and enjoys its life

Just had my 24k service feels good at the mo, looking foward to what the next 5-10k miles will bring. Have noticed my MPG going down tho, maybe my foot is just getting heavier?!

Mines on 34k and feels nice and loose, well I thought it did.

When I drove spykees on 45k I could so notice just how loose the engine was, there was a difference.

I am on 10200ish and it feels quite loose. I remember when it was new, it was quite slow!
Looking forward to the 12,000mile service because after that I think it might actually take off :D

Mine just turned 12k yesterday...and feeling gr-r-r-eat. all this talk of 'getting better with age' makes me a bit happier about racking up the miles. Although i did like it when i forst bought it with only 4 digits on the dash.
Suppose 12k for a 2003 cup is pretty low.. more driving more driving

I've just ticked over to 3,000...I need to drive it more, she still feels quite tight! LOL! :D

Nearly on my 40k anniverary, car goes like a train most of the time, though it does have it's 'slow' moments.
