I've got another 8k to go but it's true, the more miles you do the better the performance (up to a point)
Don't know what the optimum is and I guess it depends on the manufacturer - I had a Golf GTi Turbo 150 with 88k on the clock, it had a full VWSH & went like the clappers, so I rekon the Clio's 'optimum is about 60k? Just got to keep putting posh oil in (fully synth) and keep it serviced and it will improve even more!!!
My mate has a full fat 172 with about 20k on his, and he keeps saying to me that his engine is better than mine cause its got less miles blah blah. I keep telling him they get better with age, but he is having none of it. I'll just have to show him one day on a track or something.
Just had my 24k service feels good at the mo, looking foward to what the next 5-10k miles will bring. Have noticed my MPG going down tho, maybe my foot is just getting heavier?!
I am on 10200ish and it feels quite loose. I remember when it was new, it was quite slow!
Looking forward to the 12,000mile service because after that I think it might actually take off
Mine just turned 12k yesterday...and feeling gr-r-r-eat. all this talk of 'getting better with age' makes me a bit happier about racking up the miles. Although i did like it when i forst bought it with only 4 digits on the dash.
Suppose 12k for a 2003 cup is pretty low.. more driving more driving
