360 wireless with a normal wirless usb?

is it possible? i dont really want to pay £60 for the microsoft 360 wireless one if i can get away with one i use everyday on my pcs!

Yes mate it works, I took my wireless router from my pc plugged the Ethernet cable into it and my 360 then popped it into a micro filter and it worked as normal. If I was you i'd just buy a cheap adsl modem for about 15 quid and use that!!

ive got a wireless router, but didn't know if a std usb wireless stick would just plug in the xbox and work ok.

i thought this but as there arent any other ones out there (ie made by other companies) for the xbox I thought microsoft must have something in it which is only available by them.

it has an LED which tells you how its working for one.

to make the 360 wireless you can buy a wireless game adapter, a usb dongle won't work, you need a bridge, something like this

so either one of those, the official 360 one (this is the best option, its cheap and works VERY well) or plug it directly into your wireless router to one of the ports in the back, but obviosuly this then won't be wireless.

I have the 360 option, never regretted it.
