36k service, what need’s doing





Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Im getting my car serviced independently and need to know the following

What do they do/check for the 36k service on a 172?

What parts do I need to buy?

oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, air filter, auxiary belt change.

check all brakes etc etc.

36k is the major service!!!

how much is it going to cost you independently as a matter of interest? Ive been quoted £260 for the 36k service from the bonnet denters at Renault

Just the cost of the parts, my sisters bf is going to do it, Ill give him a few quid for his trouble tho,

The last time I went to an independent garage was to get all four sets of brake pads changed, it cost £30 plus the pads, Renault were asking nearly £200 inclusive. So well worth asking around for the service.
 


yes the belt def needs to be changed, the belt from renault is only £18.49.

a 36k service from renault is 300 quid!!!

Hey Viv remember its only the Auxiliary belt.........NOT the timing belt...........it jusr sounded like thats what you were thinking.

Yeah thanks Stu, Ive just done another search, everyone has a different opinion on this, so no fuel filter change then??

Thanks, its only 3 so no need; it had the tensioners done under warranty when it was 7months old.

Thanks, its only 3 so no need; it had the tensioners done under warranty when it was 7months old.
