3k noise help!!!

hi everyone my car has developed a funny noise when i am nailing it or about too esoecially in second and third and i reach between 3k and 4k and i let of the throttle there i a vibrating noise comng from the front end like an exhaust noise or soemithng but does not do it in all the time or other gears...now i have got a very loose front arch that catches now and again on full lock could this be the noise either with the wind catching it or something?? bugger!!!

Sounds like the same problem i'm having. This is my sencond RS ph2 and I think it also happened on my first one. It was the mid silencer i think, it was under warranty so not really sure. Is this common? Bloody annoying!

cheers guys it is just strange it only does it at 3k nothing else as fare as i can make out only thing is my system is a scorpion stainless one not a standard system? if the baff have gone what can i do ...do i need a new system???

btt...i tried to rev the engine today without being in motion and there is absolutely no noise what so ever...if the exhaust was buggered it would do it all the time yeah???

commen problem was the mid section however my mate had a non gen exhaust fitted and it held the cat off centre with the manifold which also produced a similiar noise. cured it by bending the exhaust so the cat was central.

Had this problem, could be a bent backbox. Sounds silly but mine was real sqewiff, managed to bodge it though =)

got this on my cup too at the mo been worse since i had new exhaust fitted sounds like its coming from my cat so maybe its fooked !

Yea sorry, was away. Bent backbox. The pipe had somehow been smashed into the box and was making the mounting bracket really high, hence the top of the back box was reverberating on the underside of the car. Finally fixed this problem when a logged jumped under my car and took out the whole exhaust, much to my delight. New system installed, funny noise completely gone now.

My noise has been sorted one of the sprung bolts from the cat to mani had sheared off so sounds sweet as now specially with matched inlets

hi guys thanks for your comments mark did this cost you alot to fix i am wanting a decat so dont know whether its the cat or not!!! if its the bolt how much is this? power seems to be down as well so dont know what up bugger!!!

gdi replaced the bolt foc as they fitted the exhaust so pretty happy with that !

get down the back of your car and lift the back box up and down..

it it like bangs its the moutning on the back.. you should be able to see it

i bodged it for now with a bit of rubber inbetween the mount and the metal pipe that goes into the exhaust
