put them back in

i would be to scared to even go about 180bhp turbo 1.4 made by fiat.. couple of months when people are at 200bhp they will probably start to blow up

guy at 320bhp has used it for 12 months now and done 20k miles with it fitted and only thing that has broken is his drive shafts which he has had replaced, there is a trefao assetto course (500 race series) race car engineer on here somewhere and he said the internals are good for 250bhp then they have to be modified, im looking at about 176bhp with the induction kit

  Nothing at the mo :(

I'd be interested in one of these once the prices aren't so ridiculous.

What's the worst MPG you've seen since you've owned it? And is it run in yet?

Yeh mine is run in, I'm on 1400 miles now, for the first 1000 miles j averaged about 31mpg, the worst I have seen was when I reset it and nailed it up the motorway and it got 19mpg, now I reset it at 1000 miles and over the last 400 or so miles I have averaged 39.6mpg ad that's driving it normally in sport mode and that including a visit to the car and fiddle which I was pressing on, mpg on the motorway is about 55mpg of you sit at 70mph

Lol yeh he just said he got some stronger ones, I think it's the torque that just shredded them

Yeah no doubt. Big power in a car not designed for it, is always going to entail a few wear & tear issues. Seems daft to me to start with a 1.4T and then tune it to buggery, but I suppose there is an appeal. Especially with them being so light. Would massacre a lot of machinery when you're racing down the DC ;)

Sounds like the power mods you are planning will make it rather spritely.

Yeh I agree but I think they might of started with a 1.4 to keep the weight down but slot are boring out the engines to 1.5 and 1.6 and yeh like i said I honestly think the 320bhp ones would keep pace with some of the supercars and high end sports cars because they are both stripped out and lightweight seats and components.

And yeh I'm not going mad on power mods more just getting it to a decent pace and then learning to drive it properly

Have you ever had a car that you've kept the rear seats in? LOL ;). Do love the sound of these things!

lol if he'd bought the Mini GP he'd probably have put a set of Recaros in the back and used the strut brace as a roller coaster bar.

Yeh carpet and seat belts out is happening and yeh my Megane had a full interior :approve:

And I don't want 280bhp I want 175bhp, I was jut saying 280 is achievable if you bank balance is big enough which mine isnt

sorry to sound nosey but I'm rather confused. You have a clio 200, megane r26, then a brand new fiat 500 abarth....seems a bit backwards to me, you want to start modifying this so you clearly didnt buy it to save money?

Are you new? Been covered (at length!).

Why didn't you buy an MX5 if you wanted a girls car with only 2 seats?

I look forward to your threads. Make me lol.

  Turbos.
Don't do yourself any favours do you...LOL.

A Lambo doing 0-60mph isn't much fun, let alone this.

(That was BANTER)

in simple : 200 was awesome but broken down every 5 mins due to me driving it like an idiot (i have grown up alot since then) and i wanted more tuneability, got the r26, loved it i had it mapped etc and it was great but was costing a fortune to run and wanted something abit more fun and less serious so bought the 500 abarth and im loving it.

also met up with a fellow fiat owner and went for a run through some b road and stuff.

his car has got:
GAZ shocks (which sound really cool) with eibach springs, has the same set up as the race car geometry wise
TMC tuning box and dump valve
BMC drop in filter
10 spoke wheels but also had some OZ Alleggerita superlight wheels

it goes really well ad handles well aswell.

PMSL <3.

What other plans you got for the 500 then? Or are you going to leave it after all the advice on here?

TMC box should be here monday along with the ITG filter, fitting it tuesday and then thats it for now

oh and carpeting the rear with a luggage bar/strut brace (what ever is easier to get hold of)

Been coverd in this thread already

they said and i have got the conversation recorded, that if i get it mapped it will void any warranty engine wise but the tuning box wont, they said they have seen a few abarth 500s with the TMC box and because it doesnt enter the ecu it is fine and because it doesnt take the car much beyond the same figures as the esseesse upgrade they will still cover my engine under warrenty with the tuning box fitted so im gonna get the tuning box.

That's what I thought but I have the conversation recorded so if I get problems I will just revert to that

  Nothing at the mo :(
hang on im confused :S

Did he go from a 200 to the Fiat? or a 225 to the fiat? or a 200, then 225 then a fiat? :s.. if its the last one then wtf lol

To save money.

I know it has been covered maaaany times before, just still doesn't make sense to me. 11,000 225 vs a 14,000+ Fiat. Reason he couldn't afford to run it was because he remapped and drove everywhere like a t*sser. I have no time for people that live beyond their means on credit.
