I know such an awesome engine, and so bloody cheap you don't have to worry about a rebuild essentially, anything bad happens, bend a rod etc just put a new lump in.
Shame Saab have gone really.

I had about 450bhp out of one just by bolting a big turbo and injectors onto a snotty old high miles one, when it finall died it was only due to corrosion of the head gasket, nothing actually bent or broke mechanically.

Made a lot of steam and oil smoke when it went, although even then was still driving fine, lol.

You got a thread anywhere for that build at all? Would like to just see the work involved in making it RWD and cutting the floor out, cool stuff.

Was already RWD when I inherited it (I took it as part payment against a debt from an ex mrs who owned it before me) although they did a rubbish job and Ive had to redo a lot of it, especially suspension wise (in terms of steering arm design and mounting points etc I mean, not just the shocks and springs)

Its a bit of a silly car but will probably keep it long term, its one of those things its fun to just tinker with now and then when I have some free time, even though I know it will never actually be any good as such, lol.

Mainly just use it for leaning against and talking bollox though, lol.
