60mm shocks

Okay so I ordered a set of 60mm lowering springs off demontweeks on tuesday and they still havent arrived... anyway a bit of reading around and I realised I could ruin my shocks within days or years its a miss or go... so just wondering would buying sport shock absorbers do the job and help with ride comfort etc?
