Car  1998 Clio 1.2
hi all,

just a quick question will a 172 or a 182 engine fit straight into a s reg 1.2 8v clio?

thanks

You can definitely fit one in the boot. I'd imagine second with seats folded down and probably one in front foot well

i reckon two in the boot and one on the passenger seat one in the footwell one in the engine bay

i wasnt really thinking about putting it into the boot tbh. its the 2nd shape clio if anyone thought i was on about a mk1.

Where we're you planning on putting it? Do you have a small trailer or a strong roof rack?

I'd say insurance purposes, it's cheaper to put a 2.0 in and keep it registered as a 1.2.

Innit.

I reckon 4, remove the passenger seat then you will have loads of space, Just be careful not to spill oil on the carpet.

I reckon 5 actually, lay two down side by side and another two on top, passenger seat out and another.

Or 6 add one in the engine bay.

Or 7, remover drivers seat and use it as a seat for the journey, only if less than 10 miles though

I can't see how on earth your guna fit a 182 lump in a 1.2 engine bay.

Unless you take out the original lump your guna struggle for space.

That said with the correct level of supportive underwear anything is possible.

You could fit another one on the roof rack if he has one, could crush the car like but still. :D

KTec are really good, their customer service is amazing, highly recommended if you get them to do anything. If you're in doubt then ring them up. I spoke to a guy called Anthony about coilover repairs and they couldn't have been more helpful!
