Ok, I loaned my amp to a mate for a while, now the 6x9s worked before. he gave it me back today and when I went to try and wire up my 6x9s they wouldnt work, the power light is on, but the protection one isnt, shuld that be on? the speakers just dont work. The wiring seems to look ok but I cant work it out :( Any suggestions?

the protection light should be off (it only comes on when there is a fault)
have you got a LPF on that shouldnt be on???
are all of the other settings ok on the amp(gain etc)

its stands for Low-pass Filter
used to cut high frequencies(sp?) going to a sub

hehe. Well I tried the amp in my mates car today and it worked fine so im guessing it is either the speakers or the wiring. Got no idea how it could be the speakers though as they were working perfectly like a week ago and nothing has been done to them apart from unwiring them from the amp.

is the fuse on the power cable still intact in your car?

some amps (usually cheaper ones) have the power lights running from the remote power, meaning that it doesnt always necessarly have power... lol

something worth checking, especially if you took the amp out and didnt take the fuse out!
